Protein: Your Spring Training Partner
Whether you are training for strength, endurance or weight loss, cardiovascular health or all the above, it’s vital to give your body the protein it needs to build and repair the muscles you use during exercise. Protein also plays an important role in bone health and in the creation of antibodies that help fight infection.
To properly support a training regimen, protein intake needs to be broken down into small quantities, several times a day. For example, add a piece of cheese to your snack. Spreading out consumption in this way is more effective than consuming a large quantity of protein all at once.
It is also important to have protein as part of your regular breakfast routine as it helps regulate your blood sugar throughout the day.
